Behind the Scenes at Gibson Mill, Hardcastle Crags, Hebden Bridge

June 2016

We all see the fantastic images that appear in wedding magazines and blogs and we fall in love with them, envisioning that beauty for our own wedding day. But behind every amazing photo you see there is a story. Hours of talent, sweat and tears that went into creating that one perfect image.

In June, I organised a photoshoot using a hand-picked selection of amazing wedding industry friends to promote a new range of bridal headpieces by Molly from Good Golly Miss Molly Hats.

I knew I wanted to create something beautiful, relaxed and the whole shoot needed to be full of opportunities and completely stress free. Because that’s what we do at Mode for…Events, create relaxed, fun events without any stress for our clients and colleagues! (we’re nailing that too BTW!).

The shoot was amazing, the photos taken at Gibson Mill, Hardcastle Crags by Adam of Adam Wilkinson Photography are incredible and I released the images to various magazines and blogs, but settled on a front cover image and two-page spread in Your Yorkshire Wedding Magazine.

Have you seen it? It’s incredible! Go buy your copy now!

It all worked out perfectly, the small but perfectly formed team was great with myself, Molly, Adam, Naomi (Make-up by Naomi J Frazer), Cheryl (Hair by Cheryl Walker-Askew), a cake from Claire at Sweet Sugar Sixpence, bouquets from Lucy at Lily Rose & Daisy Chains and dresses from Shannon at Dotty Taylor, plus our two young and talented models at the very start of their careers, Becky and Alice, who were both relatives of friends.

I hope the stunning images will be circulating the wedding world for some years to come, but back to my point, behind every stunning image is a story. So I thought you’d like to see the real story in images. So, sit back and enjoy the behind the scenes images from our photoshoot.

Lots of Love

Katie & Mark married at The Arches @ Dean Clough, Halifax, West Yorkshire on 29 July 2016 and it was a stunning wedding filled with music, love, traditional singing and fast cars!

This was the first ever legal ceremony at The Arches so it was an exciting event for this most wonderful venue, however, with a nervous groom and a bride delayed in traffic, it was cutting it fine as to whether the Registrar could stay before he had to get off to his next wedding, the other side of Halifax! However, Katie arrived looking stunning and the show carried on flawlessly.

The venue looked superb with flowers from Owl House Flowers (www. and we helped style the venue beautifully with little touches such as horse shoes on the tables from the bride.

Amazing food from the fabulous Eat Me – Drink Me ( magic mirrors and some great live music set the guests up for a party that ran right into the night.

Katie and Mark were a delight to work with on their wedding and they had some fabulous words to say about Mode for…Events and the service we offer too. Read Katie’s testimonial:

“On viewing ‘The Arches’ at Dean Clough Mill for our potential wedding venue, we fell in love with it and Tabby at ‘Mode-for Events’. Tabby’s instant recognition for the style of our wedding along with her being knowledgeable about the venue, catering and down to the finer detail was just exquisite.

Tabby and her team were accommodating to our every request from menu tasting to helping offer ideas of special touches for the day. The team were available for every call I made and nothing was too much trouble.

The overall service from the first meeting with Tabby up to our wedding day was professional but personable and flawless in the delivery. Tabby and the team made our wedding a superb event and I highly recommend the company and their comprehensive knowledge of the events trade. We certainly would have Mode for-Events plan our next party.” Katie Bennett - July 2016

Congratulations Katie and Mark
